How to Be Happy in a Casino |

Being in a casino more hours than I ever care to realize, I’ve experienced my share of ups and downs. At one point, actually at several points, I’ve almost called it quits and sworn off casino gambling for the rest of my life. Then, I stop to regroup and everything suddenly seems brighter and more manageable.
If you are around enough casino gambling, you will see it all. You’ll see the big winners, the big losers, the ones who won big and lost it all back, the people who lost everything and won it all back and the ones who will willingly give ever dime they have to a casino. Sometimes it is depressing but most of the time, casino gambling makes me happy but it’s because of the friends that I’ve made along the way that makes me the happiest among fellow gamblers and also because of a few tricks I’ve learned to help me maintain my position on being a happy gambler.
I don’t live my life in what “could’ve beens” so as a gambler, I’ve learned to walk away with small wins and then leave the gaming area. Otherwise I begin to doubt myself and the way I gamble. I can’t tell you of the times that in my early gambling days, I would cash out and stand around watching a craps table only to discover that I missed a twenty to thirty minute roll. The kind of roll that could pad my purse a little better but didn’t because I walked away too soon.
The dealers always love to tell you when you missed a monster roll or a roll they know you would have liked to have been on and this used to bother me too so I just close my ears to it and ignore the fact that the casino dealers tell me this stuff. I pretend that they just make it up because I left and went to another casinos and suddenly, I’m OK with their stories.
Happiness continually in a casino is difficult to achieve if you spend days at a time there so make it a point to always get out of the action and breathe some fresh air for awhile. If you don’t, then sometimes you can’t clear your head and keep making clear-thinking decisions.
Rest is vital in a casino town. In fact, my husband prefers when we travel together to a casino that we travel late and he tries to arrive deliberately late so that the first night when we get into town, we simply get settled in and get some rest before we gamble. This is smart, not that I always do it when traveling alone, but it is smart to do when at all possible because it allows you time to rest and start your gambling after a good night’s rest.
If you are going to be a gambler, whether you are going to gamble occasionally, relatively often or professionally, do it because you like it. Don’t do it to pay bills or to satisfy your significant other. Gamble for entertainment and then you’ll be happy doing it. |
